Hello
Could someone help me please? I got the 9 disc version of Hall of the Mountain Grill by Hawkwind recently which has 2 Bluray discs. I have successfully copied the first of these in readiness to be processed by DVD AE so that I can listen to the audio on my music streaming system. However the second disc; Hawkwind '1999' Party is coming up with the following error: 'The volume key is unknown for this disc - video can't be decrypted Backup failed'.
Any ideas

Re: Hawkwind '1999' Party Backup Error
Hi, had the same problem with the live blue ray.
The solution is in the UHD discs section, public key database disc submission. There is a link to pkdb homepage where you can download a rar file. If you extract the file to the folder specified in the instructions you can back up this blue ray with makemkv. Not sure why the HOTMG blue ray works ok but the Cleveland disc needs this extra effort!

If the blu-ray uses AACS v82, those dump files need to be emailed to svq@makemkv.com. Eventually a hashed key will be created and downloaded by MakeMKV as necessary.

Hi Fallsound
Thank you for your reply.
I have had a quick look at your solution, but have hit a problem straight away! I am not these days very PC wise and I cannot find the UHD Discs section to make a start. Would you be able to direct me to this?
Regards
Sneth

Re: Hawkwind '1999' Party Backup Error
Hi, under "disc formats and error reports" we have the blu-ray discs section where this topic is. The UHD discs section is the next thread and the first topic is "public keydb disc submissions". The first page (out of 36) has the information you will need. Hope this helps, like you I use DVD audio extractor to extact the audio from blu ray and rely on makemkv to make a decrypted backup to facilitate this happening!
