I have some troubles with 50GB BD-REs on my (old) Samsung TV Blu-ray Player. Unfortunately there is no firmware update available for this player anymore because Samsung has discontinued these products years ago.
E.g.,
Panasonic, BD-RE 50GB, MID: MEI-T01-001
Verbatim, BD-RE 50GB, MID: VERBAT-IM1-000

If I burn a HD-Movie on the Panasonic BD-RE disc, the Samsung TV Blu-ray Player has no problems to read it and is playing the movie smoothly.
But, if If I burn the same HD-Movie on the Verbatim BD-RE disc, the Samsung TV Blu-ray Player has troubles to read it and stagnates playing the movie.
I think it depends on the Media Identification MID of the BD-RE in combination of the firmware.
Is it possible to change the MID of a BD-RE disc. If yes, how to do?
