Brave Ultimate Collector's Edition not ripping correctly

Hello everyone. I've had some great success ripping blurays with my LG drive purchased from one of the amazing experts here on the forum.

However, I'm having a problem with the Disney's Brave Ultimate Collector's Edition bluray. There is a 3d disk in here but I'm not trying to rip it. The regular bluray rips a lot of the smaller files but it fails the actual important ones. It creates files that match, in size, what makemkv says the title's should be. But the content never works. Windows won't make a preview icon, and VLC can't open the files. The main movie is in one or more of the files that won't rip.

Is this a common issue with Brave, and how would I fix it?

Can you show us the MakeMKV log from trying to rip the movie? Without, we're just guessing. I don't recall Brave (2012) being any different than most Pixar movies.

If I were to make a guess, I'd suggest gently cleaning your disc and trying again.
