HUNTER KILLER PLAYBACK BLOCKED

I downloaded this 2018 Blu-ray the usual way with MakeMKV. It processed it normally but on playback with VLC it choked at 5 min 53 sec and displayed a black screen with the following message:

Is your "usual way" to write a backup of the whole disk? Does an actual *.MKV file leave the nasty stuff behind?

Google SCREEN PASS WIKILEAKS and see page 7 of Sony's PDF for a description of the "Screen Pass" DRM scheme. I assume it's implemented in BD-JAVA.

Was the one you ripped the one recommended by MakeMKV?
