sound missing, bluray

Post by zumosol »

Hi:)

Movie: Hangover 2
In VLC Sound is missing.
In Dvbviewer both sound and Sub's are missing + movie plays in a kind of slowmotion.
Picture quality looks fine in both players.

I have tried to search for information about the subject but have not found anything, only I should use latest ffmpeg, so I downloaded, but nothing changed.
The "funny" thing is if I try a BD's I recorded some time ago sound works and sub's also

Any idea what else could cause the problem?

Any other information you need to answer?

thanx:)

Added later:
I tried to set audio to lossless in MakeMkv, and now I have sound using VLC, but sub's disapeared... ?!?!?
In Dvbviewer picture was still slowmotion, and sound ..well.. and then I disabeled ac3filter and speed and sound became normal, but sub's are missing.

so the only problem left is subtitles... in VLC and Dvbviewer. they ARE recognized in MakeMKV !.

hello :D
..after a week with a million try's and adjustings and so on I found a solution, MAYBE some of it is overkill, but I'm too tired to try to delete some of it just to see if it all is nesseary...
so in case anyonoe else out there is fighting same problems as me.. :

install DA-player
http://www.digiarty.com/

download from dvbviewer's homepage, Members section http://dvbviewer.com/en/index.php : postprocessor

downlaod haali matroska: http://haali.su/mkv/

download DirectVobSub: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/directvobsub.htm

downlaod CCCP ffmpeg:http://www.cccp-project.net/

download LAV codecs here: http://www.codecs.com/download/LAVFSplitter.htm ( it also comes with latest Dvbviewer version I think, not sure actually :) )

use LAV videodecoder for all types decoders in Settings/Options/Directx in Dvbviewer

restart PC !!

go into haali from start menu in Windows:options/compability/ and: load Vsfilter =YES

if it don't work then get drunk... smash your PC  and buy a bluray stand-alone player..

Ps I'm absolutely not sure DA-player is nesseary, BUT it can play back both MKV and Bluray disc's directly, with any further adjustments than downloading it,
and you know..I'm too lazy to delete it, just to see if MKV files works without it or not :)

cheers!

PS sometimes I miss VHS... "plug" in a tape press play and it worked..computers have NOT made life easier..really not.. on the other hand it was not HD..

nxt problem:

Sound is 2 channel stereo. And can not be changed as far as I can see
If I try to use Ac3-filter as ac3 decoder, the MKV movie begin to play in fast forward.. not slowmotion this time..
If I use LAV, normal speed but two channel stereo.

should i laugh or what?
maybe sleep..
