Strange issues with a specific disc

Post by SilvaEevee »

I am using a Buffalo BRUHD-PU3-BK. The disc often does not load in file explorer and I can hear the disc spinning up and down and up and down. Plays in a normal Blu-ray player fine, all episodes are working in both languages and all extras play.

OS device name: D:
Manufacturer: BUFFALO
Product: Optical Drive
Revision: 1.03
Serial number: [redacted]
Firmware date: 2118-10-24 19:34
Bus encryption flags: 17
Highest AACS version: 78

LibreDrive Information
Status: Enabled
Drive platform: MT1959
Firmware type: Patched (microcode access re-enabled)
Firmware version: 1.03
DVD all regions: Yes

Sounds like it's truggling to read the disc or a power issue. Ensure you have connected both cables and also use either ports directly off the motherboard (not case ports) or a powered USB hub with at least 24W.

Also, try cleaning the disc with a microfiber cloth. It may help and costs nothing!
Cheers :D

No improvement from cleaning and trying various ports and hubs sadly. The Buffalo does appear to have a 5v dc barrel jack which can be used instead of a second USB I am guessing? I could get an adapter for a try. I just bought the disc so I could also return it.
