Problem with Che Part 1 & 2

Post by PatrickStar »

Hello there,

i have come to this forum as i do experience issues with a Blu Ray disc of mine.

I am trying to copy my Blu Ray copy of "Che - Part 1 & 2" (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0892255/, https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0374569/) but without much success. The issue is that neither my Windows, MakeMKV or my XBOne are able to regocnize or play the disc. So far i have bought two compies of this Blu Ray to be sure that my Disc is not damaged but the behaivour is the same for booth on all Blu Ray devices i did test.

I assume this is due to copy protection but i am a bit confused as to why neither Windows or my XBOne seem to be able to recognize it as they should be DRM capable.

I would be happy for any hint or information on how i could resolve this and read the disc

Best Regards
Patrick

Clean the disc
To ensure the best possible quality, I handle my discs exclusively with medical gloves. Prior to ripping, I meticulously inspect and clean them with a specialized brush, which has proven to be effective in every instance with the exception of this movie. Despite having two copies of this disc, both exhibit the same issue, leading me to believe that it is not a cleanliness problem.

Brush nooo
Damp lint free microfiber and dry with another
A brush is doing more harm than good

Are you sure it's a BluRay and not an UHD? Maybe your drive can't read such. I dunno about the Xbox there.

I don't think Che (2008) is available on UHD, only blu-ray.

Xbox One can only play blu-ray, not UHD it seems.

I used a particularly gentle and plush brush from Amazon for discs, but I appreciate your suggestion. I have just placed an order for microfiber cloths for future use. :)

I can confirm that the disc is a Blu-ray, as the second one I purchased came in a factory-sealed Blu-ray cover. Additionally, it must be the correct region (B/2), since both the cover and disc have German printing. This is precisely the version I am referring to:

It is interesting to note that another customer on Amazon has reported the same issue, wherein they experienced difficulties playing the disc and attributed it to "factory errors."

I apologize for the confusion - I should have clarified earlier that I am in fact using an Xbox One S, which is capable of playing UHD content.

Hello everyone, I wanted to update you on my investigation into the movie and disc issue. Unfortunately, it appears that neither Senator nor Universal are accepting responsibility for the problem, and they are unable to recall the party to whom they sold the rights to. Despite this, I'm still interested in discovering what's causing the issue with the disc. If anyone has any knowledge or expertise in analyzing discs, please let me know. I'm also willing to send the disc to anyone who would like to inspect it themselves, free of charge. Thank you for your help!

You wasn't the only one to have problems. I was able to rip my entire collection of blu's and DVD's but not Chi 1 & 2 DVD. And it wasn't dirty disc. It just kept hanging in mid rip, so just gave up.

It played fine in my multi region blu ray, and I live in the same country as the disc.
