MakeMKV for Mac won't rip my 'Inception' blu-ray

Post by grantwolsey »

Hello,
If I could get a moderator or developer to help with this and tell me what to do that would be immensely appreciated...

I got a blu-ray of "Inception" for Christmas, and finally got around to trying to rip it to my hard disk. However, when I pop it into my blu-ray reader it stalls when trying to open it and then it shoots back to the default point and says this in the "Activity Log" (if you call it that) section:

This disc uses newer version of AACS protection. Please let us know about it by visiting http://www.makemkv.com/a/?JiYm...
The volume key is unknown for this disc - video can't be decrypted
Failed to open disc

I went to the link, it said thank you for submitting the information, but when I tried to rip it again it did the same thing with the exact same text in the activity log as a result.

Can I get any information leading to a resolution for this problem? I mean, I can't be the only one with problems ripping this disc; Inception's awesome... many more besides me must be trying this exact same thing...

Thank you,

Grant

SORRY... I found out the problem... I was just using an outdated version of the beta. Thanks anyways...I'm a moron.

How do I delete threads that I start?

I'm having a different problem with my copy of Inception, but instead of making a new thread, I figured I'd toss it in here.

The rip went just fine, but when I extract the file with imkvextract the resulting video file is in avi format. Is that normal? Wanting to back this movie up to a bluray disc (I have a jukebox that I put one copy in, and keep the original for sharing, other locations, etc.) I use handbrake and convert (and compress) this avi file into an mkv.

When I try to use TSMuxer to rejoin this new video file with the original audio it crashes at 2.9% with the following in output:

SmartLabs tsMuxeR. Version 1.10.6 http://www.smlabs.net
Decoding H264 stream (track 2): Profile: Main@4.1 Resolution: 1920:1072p Frame rate: 90000
H.264 muxing fps not set. Get fps from stream.
H.264 stream does not contain fps field. Muxing fps=90000
Decoding DTS-HD stream (track 1): Bitrate: 1536Kbps core + MLP data.Sample Rate: 48KHz Channels: 5.1 (DTS Master Audio)
H264 bitstream changed: insert nal unit delimiters
H264 bitstream changed: insert pict timing and buffering period SEI units
B-pyramid level 1 detected. Shift DTS to 2 frames
H264 bitstream changed: insert SPS/PPS units

and this error:

Assertion failed: ((int64_t)(curM2TSPCR+0.5) == pcrVal * 300), function processM2TSPCR, file ../vodTransport/src/tsMuxer.cpp, line 446.

any ideas?

This and the entirety of your post has nothing to do with the performance of MakeMKV...
