On both special features I get AV sync errors that stop the rips:

Is there a way to _ignore_ the exceptions and force the rip? I know that _could_ be disastrous, but it would be nice to be able to try that. I've had these kind of AV sync issues stop me before with an burned DVD, this is just the first time I've ever posted about it... in the other case I couldn't ever rip that disc (and I'd love to go back and try).
One interesting thing is that it appears the disc isn't encrypted. So I copied the M2TS files for the special features directly to disk and I can play them with VLC Media Player, and was able to do a convert. So I know, there's a workaround, but I've always wanted to ask about the AV sync issues and if they can be ignored - so please forgive me for posting this anyway.
The special features appear to be 480i upconverted to 1080p without even deinterlacing first (talk about lazy) - making it so the combed image can't be deinterlaced as it's been upconverted that way and so each "comb tooth" is 2 or three rows ( )
