If MakeMKV detected your java installation, when you insert a Bluray disk with playlist obfuscation on it, you should see a message in the display window about loading Java when you scan the disk. If that doesn't show up, then MakeMKV did not find Java, so it won't be able to parse the disk.
DVDs... well, I don't think MakeMKV makes any attempt to find the main feature on those. My DVD copies of Divergent are boxed up in storage right now, so I can't test that. The BD copies worked just fine for detection/selection.
Note: There are a lot of messages posted here for "which playlist" for disks that do NOT use playlist obfuscation. Example include Disney/Pixar disks, where their are multiple titles that differ by language. Another example is disks with "director's cuts", where one disk has multiple versions constructed by piecing scenes together from multiple transport stream files. Those are not the same as Lionsgate's disks.
