I just exchanged both Blu-ray discs and both copied without issues. So it seems I just have bad luck and both previous movies were badly pressed or something. All is well. thumbsup.gif

Glad to hear that simply swapping for replacement discs solved the problem.

Unfortunately, over the last year or so, this type of problem is becoming more and more prevalent. Hopefully, better QC will be performed throughout the industry...

I have seen this error for functional disks. I have a BT20N by LG that errors out on 10-15% of my Blu Rays. I can take the exact same disk over to a Samsung SE-506AB drive and it will work fine. The only thing that I can think of is that there is some hardware within the drive that prevents our process. Of course, I am open to other ideas . When this happens, I cannot even take an ISO of the disk (using dd in Linux... doesn't get more basic than that...)

I have tried multiple different setups including passing the drive through a VMware ESXi, direct connecting to the computer, Linux and Windows OS's. The BT20N consistently causes issues. Every disk that breaks with the LG BT20N works fine with the Samsung SE-506AB.

What type of drive are you using?

Indeed. I have come to terms with the waste of cash and troubleshooting time. Leaving it with this: @lgelectronics #fail

I am actively trying to find my own (not borrowed) Samsung drive, but the 506AB are end of life. (I have post under general topics, not trying to hijack )
