unable to save mkv of The A-Team
Re: unable to save mkv of The A-Team
And this is what I get when I try to make MKV:
Re: unable to save mkv of The A-Team
That's a problem with the hardware, which MAY be a bad disk, but is more likely to be a power issue. USB-powered drives do not work well when plugged in to non-powered USB hubs, and they will give errors like then when the read rate gets too high (drive spinning faster).

Re: unable to save mkv of The A-Team
It's a powered drive on a Y cable, plugged into both a charger and a normal USB port. I've ripped every Blu-ray in my collection (hundreds) and the only ones that fall over are this A-Team and Skyfall, which incidentally crops up here as well:

Interesting that this thread implies a hardware error. Will have to try and find someone with a Blu-ray drive to test....

Re: unable to save mkv of The A-Team
The NO SEEK COMPLETE, if it weren't followed by repeated STATUS_DEVICE_DATA_ERROR messages, is often a disk that is dirty, scratched, or badly manufactured, or one that is deliberately made to cause problems (a fake title with bad navigation commands in it).
It did come back online for a bit, and continue to try reading the disk, so the seek had to have completed after a few retries. That also points away from the disk (it was readable), and at the drive itself.
Of course, I can be wrong. The Y cable should be giving the drive plenty of power.
