I have confirmed this via side-by-side with the dvd.

First did a full disc backup, then pieced this sucker together using the DVD as a reference & visually scanning each MPLS in BDInfo for the correct order, hope this helps.
btw, the rip wouldn't play on TMT6 or PowerDVD 16.

Re: La La Land
Hi guys,
I'm new to all this, but am just looking for a way to get the making of special feature ripped onto my device.
The DVD ripped fine, but it appears as if the making of special is only on the blu-ray.
Any help?

Re: La La Land
Is this normal for Lionsgate. Having different mpls files and segment maps for different US retailers. Wouldn't it be the same BD except for rental's. I have the 4K release (Standard US release bought at Target) and I used the info from post #1 for the 1080p BD disc and look to be correct when I scanned through compared to the 4k disc I had playing.
Used Source file name: 00620.mpls and came up with Segment map: 509,512,506,501,515,505,502,507,504,503,508,510,514,511,513 as well. But I did get a different File Name believe it was t2xx something forgot what it came up as before I changed it.
Another user Posted Best Buy release was a different mpls/segment map and so was the Target Release (not store-exclusive version)
Might have to go back and check again and watch the file.
Checked with process monitor I'm showing the correct info from post #1

Re: La La Land
I have a retail disc, that includes DVD and Digital HD as well as a Bonus Disc (DVD form) but none of the aforementioned playlists appear to be correct. I compared 1 by 1 each of the tracks until I found the same segment map as the first post and this is what I show as a correct playlist:
Title information
Name: La La Land
Source file name: 00478.mpls
Duration: 2:07:48
Chapters count: 16
Size: 33.0 GB
Segment count: 15
Segment map: 509,512,506,501,515,505,502,507,504,503,508,510,514,511,513
File name: La_La_Land_t200.mkv
Side note:
I have AnyDVD as well, and it will usually tell me which playlist is correct when there is this type of protection going on, but it doesn't with this particular disk. I briefly skimmed each segment, and it appears to be the correct playing order based on my memory of seeing the movie. It seems to flow correctly from scene to scene across the segments. I've submitted my AnyDVD log file to those folks, and they are supposed to update their database to show the correct playlist based on those log files. I will update this post in case it comes back with a different playlist than the one I manually compared to and found.

Re: La La Land
DVDFab came back with same info I gathered from the process monitor (which I'm not sure it works correctly all the time) in my post for 00620 file. But I just tried again with another movie 31 and process monitor and DVDFab didn't match. I don't have AnyDVD anymore and my trail is up so can't check with that to compare.

I have the Amazon version with Blu-Ray + DVD + Digital HD and none of the previously mentioned mpls numbers and segment map combinations match my Blu-Ray disc. Anyone figure out what it is for the Amazon disc?

Re: La La Land
I believe I have found a similar playlist to be correct for the Target 3-disc exclusive. I ripped the only track on the DVD and the playlist above for the Blu-ray then used FFmpeg to extract an image from every second of the film (7,669 seconds = 7,669 images) and compared the lists of images side-by-side. Pretty unscientific the following playlist appears to match the DVD (note that only the file name appears to be different):dholme wrote:I have confirmed this via side-by-side with the dvd.

Re: La La Land
Is anyone else using DVDFab 10?
DVDFab shows 00416.mpls as the correct main movie playlist but it's not. It has the wrong segment mapping. 00912.mpls is the correct playlist and has the correct segment mapping. However, for some reason, it only shows this playlist as 10 seconds long for 00912.mpls. I don't see any way to manually correct this. In fact, all playlists other than 00416.mpls show as only seconds long. The board won't let me attach a file to show the BDINFO log. Any suggestions? Anyone else having this problem? This is the Redbox version.

Re: La La Land
Does anyone have any info on La La Land Blu-ray+Digital Copy, eOne Canadian release (purchased at Walmart in Canada). Thanks...

I also have the Amazon version and all my segment maps begin with 512 and end with 515. I tried using DVDFab and it says 00436.mpls is correct; however, this track is 2:08:48 in length which is a minute longer than the movie itself. Any suggestions?
Update: After converting the track suggested by DVDFab I can confirm it is not correct as the movie is out of order.

Re: La La Land
My issue with the Redbox version has the same symptom. The main track it selects is 2:08:48 and the actual movie is 2:07:48. The extra minute comes from the segment 03006.m2ts which is a copyright warning message video that is exactly 1 min long. The rest of the segment playlist uses the correct segments, just in the wrong order. So, its the wrong order of all the correct segments plus an additional 1 min segment that is a copyright warning.Dominashaun wrote:jumbleknot wrote:I have the Amazon version with Blu-Ray + DVD + Digital HD and none of the previously mentioned mpls numbers and segment map combinations match my Blu-Ray disc. In any case, even if you find the correct playlist (for Redbox it is 912) the time of the segments and the total time of all the segments reports wrong in DVDFab. If others aren't having this problem then maybe it's a DVDFab issue.

Re: La La Land
like I said in my Redbox post, look for the segment map, not the mpls, if 912 doesn't work for youTheNid wrote:Hmm. My Redbox is only showing me 00416.mpls as a possibility. 00912.mpls is showing as only 10 seconds long.
Re: La La Land
Long time lurker first time poster, just wanted to chime in and say that for the UltraHD release BDestroyer8418 has the right info above. Just used that to rip and manually checked against the iTunes Digital Copy and the order is correct.
Re: La La Land
I have the U.S. Amazon version as well and none of the above playlists were correct. The Amazon BD has something like 400 title playlists!
But, using the method described in the thread here I took the time and figured out the correct playlist. I confirmed it is correct by playing it back at x10 speed alongside the streaming digital copy.
