I've noticed once someone has found the correct segment map, the mpls does't really matter. In this case segment map- Segment map: 510,518,503,506,519,502,501,508,507,513,516,515,504,511,514,517,509,505,512,520 is correct. I recommend using VLC Player & AnyDVD when trying to work out the correct segment order. Run AnyDVD, let it scan the disc, then go into the disc under BDMV & then stream. Inside here copy all "500" series m2ts files to your computer (usually 500-515 or 500-520). After this you can remove the disc. I usually play it on a player & watch what I need to see on TV, meanwhile use VLC Player or any player that can play m2ts files. Then I like to move the files on my desktop in a line, left to right until I've worked out the segment order. Then you MUST exit AnyDVD completely, re-insert the disc and scroll thru to find the correct segment sequence & the fun task of un-checking all titles that are not the correct playlist. Hope this helps!

Last week I installed Java as I read it's used with makemkv to point to the correct playlist. Well it labeled one track as "FPL_MainFeature" as below:

Name: Mechanic: Resurrection (English)
Comment: FPL_MainFeature
Source file name: 00393.mpls
Duration: 1:38:38
Chapters count: 16
Size: 19.8 GB
Segment count: 20
Segment map: 510,518,503,506,519,502,501,508,507,513,516,515,504,511,514,517,509,505,512,520
File name: Mechanic_Resurrection_t00.mkv

Shame Java can't re-create the DTS-HD soundtrack that PussyGate removes from the Redbox rentals, no? ;)

If you look under "Status" in ANY it will give you the "Java BD protection good playlists" number. No need for VLC.

PS I attempted to attach the PML file but it hard issues uploading for some reason.....
Power DVD has updated mpls.DLL. Try setting .m2ts filter and watch movie at 16x speed. Write down the segment map. Does it call the correct m2ts files? If not then the process monitor no longer works with newer disks. Time to find other methods or go back to using redfox or old Slysoft version with bdedit to quickly elimates mpls files while accessing segments in mpc

My retail disk shows this for the FPL_MainFeature:

Title information
Name: Mechanic: Resurrection

Source file name: 00466.mpls

File name: Mechanic_Resurrection_t00.mkv

Usually you can look at the duration count but even that stays the same. I don't seem to have what others have described as playlists or Source File Name.

I have had no luck with this one, from the US Netflix disc. Almost at the end of the rip I get the following and it just goes on and on.
The source file '/BDMV/STREAM/00520.m2ts' is corrupt or invalid at offset 7311783936, attempting to work around

On my second attempt at this I shipped back the disc that was giving me the problem mentioned in my last post. Received a replacement and voila! Ripped 393 and looks like it ripped without any problems and follows the segments in proper order (NetFlix Rental)...

If you want to cancel the order for a permanent key, you'll have to contact Mike directly. That would be via email at support@makemkv.com .

Researching this it seems the best/fastest way to find the correct segment map is to first backup the entire disc, which should be of normal size. Then knowing you need to work with a certain subset of segments your job is to now figure out their correct order, which the superset can be found here: BDMV/STREAM. You should be able to find each segment's starting point and length by referencing the movie.

It is somewhat tedious but using simple time math you can figure out the correct mapping faster than real time of the movie.

I have a Blu-Ray + DVD combo from The Movie Trading Company.
UPC 31398 25290 0 80

Not a single one of the 405 potential output files has a segment map that begins with 510.

Anyone have a hint as to which one may correct?
