BD or UHD no longer work

New code I'm getting is DEBUG: Code 03DF/03/62194E19F4EC

It started a UHD rip that was failing before and it's now again working, thanks Mike.

Now back to Linux, I only have windows for legacy and other programs only work on windows.

My re-encoding system lives in linux, thanks for all your hard work.

After the update I;m getting farther than I was yesterday.

I've tried backing up 2 different UHD blu ray disks. Both start failing with hash check errors. I've read the page on hash check errors. I just want to see if anyone else is experiencing this after the recent issues, before I deem my < 1 yr old drive as dead.

Please send the full debug log to support@makemkv.com . Did you restart the MakeMKV, and did you open the disc directly?

Mike is a champion, closed MakeMKV this morning and reopened it just now and so far it all seems to be working again. The debug code is still present, but I'm aware that the code alone is not an issue, so all is right in the world again. Thanks Mike!

I spoke to soon Mike. I just tried it & it seems to be working for me.

I haven’t backed up a UHD disc yet but it seems to be working. I’ll let you know if there are anymore problems.

I had an unrelated question. While trying to do a full backup, I have a disc which I was backing up and it got partially backed up before my 2 yr old hit the eject button Anyway so its a triple layer disc, and seems a little scratched, in the beginning it has hard time copying some files, but later it was working fine, haven't been able to pass those initial files, anyway to let the player resume backing up rest of the files but not the beginning ones.

Serves me right for skimming the forum and not reading thoroughly. Apparently the FW upgrade is a one-way trip. So, what did I just screw up...the ability to play UHD Blurays or something even worse?

The bad news - you lost ability to read UHD discs. The good news - not for long, there will be update "soon" that will enable reading UHD discs on 1.03 fw.

Wow that would be nice. I had downgraded firmwares on 2 drives so far. But this would be sweet!

For those that are wonder were do download the update, it's automatic, MakeMKV does it at launch. There's no website involved.

Just launch MakeMKV as normal, an it should download the update in the background.

Your Blu-ray Disc should open normally, after the debug code is presented.

Everything is working for me now. BU50N drive, with the firmware it came with. Which MakeMKV identifies as BW50. Currently ripping UHD version of Thor Ragnarok.
