The source for the unrated version from Amazon (UPC: 0 31398 20636 1).
I did not care about the theatrical version.
Title information
Name: Expendables 3 (English)
Source file name: 00756.mpls
Duration: 2:11:31
Chapters count: 16
Size: 26.8 GB
Segment count: 17
Segment map: 280,284,299,277,292,276,290,289,294,312,298,295,285,296,279,281,286
File name: Expendables_3_t08.mkv

I like to rip both. The unrated version that I have matches what penguinsaregood found. I found two tracks that matched the theatrical version, but I was not able to determine which track was the right one...

Only PowerDVD 14 decodes Atmos.

All,

For those that have the Expendables 3 Extended Version UK

The correct feel is No 00000.mpls with corresponding mts order of

333, 315, 318, 313, 332, 311, 316, 320, 327, 310, 322, 328, 335, 329, 312, 326

Hi,

I'm trying to copy my Expendables 3 to play on my Media PC with MPC-HC.
I've correctly identified the movie, both theatrical and extended versions using the AnyDVDHD trick to locate the mpls files.
They successfully copied using MakeMKV 1.9.0 (x64)

When I try to play them, the screen is black and playback is stuck at the start, pausing, playing does nothing.
If you manually jump to anything beyond the 00:00 then it will play but without sound (I only rip with HD Audio, 7.1 in this case)

When I try to play the actual disc using MPC-HC it also doesn't play / have sound in the same way as with the mkv files.

I assume this means it's an issue with MPC-HC and not MakeMKV, but just wanted to check here as it seems a troublesome disc!
Anyone here had success with MPC-HC playing the UK Extended version with Digital copy (bar code 5 055761 903508) as a disc and/or MKV rip with HD Audio?

thanks

I found a solution to this!
https://trac.mpc-hc.org/ticket/4879
https://github.com/Nevcairiel/LAVFilters/releases

d/l latest version of MPC-HC from the nightly build link at bottom of the 1st link I posted
update LAV to latest versions

now it ignores the atmos flags and plays the movie with True HD 7.1

No probs mate...

I have decided that I will provide this type of information for any and all bluray discs that I come across (i.e. "legally purchase") that use this type of annoying restriction to discourage its ridiculous adoption by the industry...

To enable legitimate customers to rip a legal backup to their own home multimedia centres.

So if you are UK based, there is a decent chance I will be able to help you out in this way in future (if I also purchase the same disc)...

...and I would encourage others (with other disc versions) to do the same!
