MKV only 7 seconds

Post by steelrfan85 »

I was using MKV and when it finishes it is only 7 seconds instead of 2 hours. It wants me to use windows movie maker and plays 7 seconds of nothing.

Hi!

What is your source material?

Are you using "MakeMKV" or some other program with "MKV" as part of its name?

Have you used MakeMKV before?

Are you running any other "ripping" programs at the same time (such as AnyDVD)?

I am using makemkv and its my first time. Was trying to use a guide online but only get the 7 seconds. It finishes with a file size of like 32 gb then I use handbrake which takes like 6 hours. Everything finishes and then when I go the file it only plays 7 seconds of nothing. I am new to handbrake as well. Tried using the same guide.

1) Watch carefully when using MakeMKV - Does Make MKV generate an error message?

2)

Are you using an original, commercial Blu-ray disc, a file (that you ripped from an original, commercial Blu-ray disc and transferred to your hard drive, or a file that you obtained online?

3) Submit an error log, if possible (Set to "Debug logging enabled")

No error report at all. commercial blu ray and ripping it to my hard drive. then handbrake says encoding finished with no errors as well. I am looking at purchasing aiseesoft blu ray copy which is the number 1 product which does all the encoding,decrypting and all the other stuff automatically.

You may have to register as "administrator" when you install MakeMKV.

As far as your opinion as to what is "The number 1 program", well - you're entitled to your opinion ;>}

I tried the file on vlc player and the movie plays the full time. Would I just use my DVD burner and burn that mkv file onto a bd-r disc? To watch in my blu ray player?

What happened to (apparently) eliminate your original "7 second" problem?

That was with windows movie maker and media player wouldn't play so I tried vlc player and it started playing the full time. Movie maker was default in the computer.
