Hi All,
ok out of the 9 discs i tried to rip, as mentioned above 3 are working.

these are the 6 that still wont decrypt:

A view to a kill
diamonds are forever
octopussy
the living daylights
the spy who loved me
tomorrow never dies

I've now ripped all fims and converted via Handbrake or Ripbot. I've played a few films and have noticed the audio is out of sync on all of them. I've even tested the direct Makemkv rip with is also out of sync. Has anyone else had this problem?

Ive played on her majestys secret service and you only live twice (watched both films from begininng to end)
used xbmc with sync video to audio function and also in 24p. flawless.

also on vlc i also dont have problems. you sure it isnt handbrake messing up when in re-inserts the soundtrack?

imho my 2 cents. classic films like this you should just leave lossless video and audio :)

what i cant understand is how many seem to be able to decrypt all the movies. but i can only do 3 so far. the above two and goldeneye.

what i did notice is the volume label of the bluray discs appear to be foreign. so maybe ive got a european edition or something..
all the movies are english though...

I get the sync issue even with the direct rip from MakeMKV.

As for the decryption, I've only had one disc (think it was For Your Eyes Only) that had a foreign title.

yeah but my point is, how sure are you that its not some sort of playback issue ?

if seen some encodes show weird artifacts when playing them 50hz and in 24p mode its perfect

film is only recorded 24frames per sec

theres issues some folk have with 24p mode whereby their display mode is like 23.93 instead of 23.97 or somesuch and what eventually happens
is the video ends up quite a few frames out of sync with the audio.... does the audio/video sync appear worst later on in the movie ...

U P D A T E :

svq's downloaded has changed from 102 to 111 for me. the remaining 6 out of the 9 desired blu's are decrypting as we speak.
i did a full disc backup to the harddrive prior to this.

@syztemlord

i will look out for any sync issues and report back

I think it's about the same, but only scanned through. I set the conversion to "Same as source" for framerate. It does appear to be out of sync from the direct rip though, so may point to a MakeMKV issue?

Just tested play back through TMT5 and the ausio is sync'd fine. Any ideas why Media player has issues? Might update codec later (use Shark007 pack).

@syztemlord

Hi, i was just about to send a post here, i scanned through the 6 decrypts, no sync issues...
Ok im on a linux platform and my media player is xbmc

keep in mind mkv is just a container, so as you suspect although some movies may be fine and other appear to be out of sync it could be
that your current codecs arent playing nice with these movies.

on windows i think its the ffdshow or ffdmpeg codec you need to look for...

FYI i would remove all codecs and then download the biggest all-encompassing codec-pack you can get your hands on and install that.

good luck

Anyone who got CASINO ROYALE to work?

All other Bond discs worked fine now but with CASINO ROYALE I still get an error message. I have downloaded the newest MakeMKV version, my SQV numbers are 111.

Newbie here, hi!

Believe it or not I had more luck backing these up (UK version) using the Linux version of MakeMKV. I had big problems with MakeMKV converting Live and Let Die in Windows but the Linux version converted it without a hitch.

All of them should work for a long time. Please check with latest dsall.svq and send the dump (created by 1.7.8) to svq@makemkv.com if it still fails.
