There is a serious problem with the zero fault tolerance of MKV - I'm on version 1.18.1 for Mac. The application used to have a 90% success rate with BluRay discs. Now it's at best 10%.
A 2 hour movie has some 86,400 frames and I think we can honestly live with a few faulty frames but MKV seems to be 100% intolerant to even one bad frame. Yet the discs which fail in MKV play fine in my BluRay player with no visible issues yet are consistently rejected with a variety of errors when using MKV, almost always in the last third of the rip.
This happens with three different BluRay drives and basically means the app is not useful for ripping anything other than regular DVDs where the success rate is close to 100%.
So this is a plea to the developer to permit an element of fault tolerance in the ripping process which will restore MakeMKV to its old great performance.
Yes the discs are clean and yes, this occurs on multiple discs with multiple drives and no, cleaning the disc(s) makes no difference.

Since I've upgraded to the 18.1 version, I've had nothing but problems. I've tried to copy about 10 4Ks and none of them have worked. They have screwed something up with this upgrade

I'm sorry guys... I'm at a lost... I have two different drives and they both give the following errors with Avatar, The Way of the Water.
-Scsi error - MEDIUM ERROR:L-EC UNCORRECTABLE ERROR'
-STATUS_DEVICE_DATA_ERROR' occurred while reading '\Device\CdRom0'
- MEDIUM ERROR:L-EC UNCORRECTABLE ERROR' occurred while reading '
I swore I ripped it in early 2025 on a different version and now on 1.18.1 But now that I'm trying to rip it again (To have a Remux copy), I get the above errors and don't know why.
Also have done the lastst Find VUK as of today with no luck. Any help would be great.
Those mean the drive is having trouble reading a section of the disc. Try cleaning the disc before attempting to rip it again.
I have tried that... What bugs me is that the disc as clean as I can get and BOTH drives are having the problem.... Driving me nuts!
