Attack On Titan - All Discs showing debug codes

Post by mcleveland92 »

Hi everyone,

I noticed in previous threads that others were showing issues ripping Attack On Titan from their personal collection.

I believe I am taking the proper steps to avoid these kinds of problems, but I would like to see if this can be resolved. Year after year, others seem to come across these same issues with this amazing show.

Can someone help me figure this out?
I noticed that while watching some of the episodes, minutes of the video are skipped. I'm pretty sure the reason is tied to these debug codes.

While MakeMKV is moving episodes or the full video file to the output folder — whether from an encrypted or unencrypted backup — the following debug codes start repeating. This appears to happen during the copy/mux phase of the process:

Code: Select all

Steps I've taken:
  • Verified disc cleanliness and condition
  • Tested in latest MakeMKV version
  • Cross-checked with KeyDB_Helper and confirmed KEYDB.cfg entries
  • Tested playback in VLC — skipping persists at same timestamps
System Info:
  • Drive Model: LG BP60NB10
  • MakeMKV Version: 1.17.6
  • Operating System: Windows 11 x64
Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I've never noticed debug codes in the MakeMKV log to be a problem. Whenever I run into problems there's something other than just debug codes in the logs.

If you make a decrypted backup of a disc and if it completes without errors, you should have a copy of all the contents of the disc in a folder on your computer's storage. For blu-rays (and 4K UHDs) in the /BDMV/STREAM/ folder will be a bunch of files named #####.m2ts. These are the actual video files on the disc. They should be playable by VLC or most players.
In MakeMKV, if you highlight a title on the left, on the right one of the items will be the 'segment map' which will list one or more numbers. Those numbers correspond to the .m2ts files in the /BDMV/STREAM/ folder.

If you find one of the titles that has skipped video and you figure out the segment map for that title, you could play the .m2ts files directly. Do they contain the skipped video?

The MKVToolNix tools can operate on a decrypted backup of a disc made with MakeMKV. To try a different muxing engine, you could point MKVToolNix GUI at a decrypted backup and create .mkv files with MKVToolNix.
