The Legend of Korra, Book 1, Disc 1

Got a box set of Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra on blu-ray. The Avatar disks all ripped fine (the TOC's were all janky and stuff but easy enough to fix). Moving on to Korra, the first title on the first disk disk of the first season seems to be getting read errors.

This is the first one:

If I let it go, additional "MEDIUM ERROR:L-EC UNCORRECTABLE ERROR" errors come up at later offsets. I let it go to complete failure once (over night), but I lost the rest of the error log. As I'm typing this out, the second title seems to be ripping just fine. I've tried cleaning the disk with alcohol and glasses lens wipes, but truthfully I don't see any major visual defects in the disc. Any other ideas I could perhaps try to get around this? I'd rather not buy the disk set again or another drive if I can avoid it.

I'm using a "BD-RE PIONEER BD-RW BDR-XD08U 1.02" as reported by MakeMKV, which is a laptop USB drive, plugged into a separately powered hub, and have ripped many disks (including the entirety of The Office) with this drive & set up, so it's likely not anything related to the drive not getting enough power or data connection to its computer, etc...

EDIT 1: Following up, the second title (index 1), ripped completely fine.
EDIT 2: The third title is experiencing the same issues. Maybe this disc is just bad.

Edit 3: I am attempting to copy the whole disk (bit for bit, encrypted, raw from the drive) to an ISO and then pull the MKV files off of that instead. Sounds like the drive is humming away happily, having already pulled ~9GB off of the disk. Will report back with additional findings. Up to 25GB now, no read errors on the commandline.

Edit 4: The disk must be bad. ISO copy gave up around 26GB with read errors. Disk itself looks clean as a whistle, no muck, no scratches.

Edit 5: Not that it's much of a check, I know MakeMKV wants to see the *whole* disk and will retry reading bad sectors instead of skipping them, but the first episode (which I am assuming is the first title) did play fine in a conventional blu-ray player.

Edit 6: Well, soap and water might have done the trick, I've at least got a complete iso with no errors (via `dd`) but holy heck this was a pain in the backside.
