MakeMKV not ripping since Mac 15.3.1 Update
Yesterday, I started ripping the new I Love Lucy blu-ray's. At the end of the day, I updated my M-1 Mac mini's OS from Sequoia 15.3 to Sequoia 15.3.1. When I attempted to resume ripping the blu-ray's a few minutes ago, MakeMKV will not open the disk. I cleaned the blu-ray disk and tried again, but nothing changed.

MakeMKV worked properly on one of the Season 2 disks I ripped yesterday. It also worked fine on one of the Season 4 disks that I hadn't attempted to rip yesterday. When I tried ripping the problem disk again, the name of the disk did NOT appear on my desktop. When I engage MakeMKV with this disk, the ripping counter will freeze in less than a minute with two blue bars eventually showing. My 4K play has no trouble identifying and playing the content of this disk.

So if I understand correctly, MakeMKV is working correctly on macOS 15.3.1 and reads other discs as expected.
But there is a disc that the optical drive can not read.
Assuming that's the case, the standard advice of gently cleaning the disc and trying again applies.
Stand alone blu-ray players are generally designed to ignore read errors and hope that the resulting glitch will be too small to notice or quickly forgotten. MakeMKV, on the other hand, works quite hard to make a perfect copy of the data on the disc. This is why a disc can appear to play fine in a stand alone player while at the same time MakeMKV can struggle to read it.
This is also why lots of people end up with more than one optical drive. In my experience, when I put a failing disc in a different drive I will often (though not always) get a different result with MakeMKV. Disc A in Drive A might result in a rip failure, but Disc A in Drive B might result in rip success.

I will think about buying another optical drive after I finish ripping the remaining disks.
I had cleaned that disk twice with denatured alcohol. I have had bad disks before, but none of the past failures were like this one.
