Re: Akira (Regular Blu ray). audio riping problem

Post by Woodstock »

It is not unusual to get audio sync errors on "constructed" tracks, such as when a movie has a number of pieces tied together to make one "whole". The key is how it SOUNDS at those points, as MakeMKV attempts to correct the over/under runs. You will have to listen to the particular audio stream to tell.

In both cases in your log, the gap is about 1 second in both the first and second audio tracks. The number of frames would seem to be the difference between a stereo track and a 5.1 channel track.

Thank you! that helps a bit but I'm not sure how to fix that syncing issue then. The activate debugging link above doesn't seem to work

Activating debugging is as simple as going to Preferences, and checking "Log debug messages" on the first page (General). It will create a VERY detailed log when running. It isn't needed for most stuff like this, but some of the more intimate things it's important. I leave it on, personally, but it restarts each time you start MakeMKV, so you have to watch out for it when you need it.

The main thing in this case is to watch the result at the time stamps indicated, listening to the audio tracks. There may be a short gap in the audio. You can check the BD itself at those time points, to see if it matches what you hear there.

Just played the film and not hearing anything on that end, no gaps or anything. Any other place I'd check, ways I'd check that audio track or methods for finding the issue/working with those gaps? I'll turn on the debug log and see if I can get any more details and present them
