Hi all,

I am not really familiar with BD technique and meanwhile I am trying out the MakeMKV software for ripping BDs to my album.
At the moment I am trying the John Wick and this one has the multiple playlist and really don't have an idea about it. MakeMKV wrote the this issue will be solved (see https://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopi ... =8&t=14330).

Now I ask myself, is it solved and I have to try all 80 lists? I also read the entries that some chapters are skipped which should be the right ones. How to handle this?

I wanted to buy this awesome software but now I am really confused

I suppose you have a Blu-Ray player. Would you mind telling us whether the chapters have titles in your version of the BD? I let VLC play the disc folder; it automatically picked the playlist you mentioned and showed 17 chapters as you said (in the "Playback" menu). The chapters didn't have titles, though; hence the question.

VLC was able to play not only the movie, but also the disc menu. In the disc menu, the chapters are shown as preview images, but without text (titles) as well. Therefore I suppose that in fact there are no chapter titles, but who knows ...

The segment map 549 as mentioned above has German burned in subtitles (when they speak Russian), segment map 316 has the same but in English.
This is from the gentlemen's edition, which comes combined with this first one and also John Wick 2 on another disc.

I absentmindedly just let it rip all titles, but I stopped it when I noticed, after 22.
316 is the only one with English burn in (of the first 22 I looked at), the other 21 have German burn in.
Map 89 is with only the commentary audio, but that is included in the other two above too, so no need.

Here are the segment maps and titles for the bonus features:

Thanks for the info, and sorry to revive that old thread.

On your disc, are segment map 316 and segment map 549 exactly equal in duration?

On my John Wick blu-ray (German, but not "Gentleman edition"), there are two segment maps with duration 1:41:50; this is segment map 549 and segment map 592. They are exactly equal in duration and nearly equal otherwise; the only difference is that some tracks are hidden in 592 while they are not hidden in 549.

In contrast, the duration of segment map 316 on my disc is 1:41:32. IMHO, if the only difference between 549 and 316 are the burned-in subtitles, both segment maps should have the same duration.

The reason why I am asking:

I also would like to have both variants (burned-in English subtitles vs. German subtitles when they speak Russian), but for the life of me I don't find that second segment map.
