Does the directoy "ANY!" make makemkvcon buggy?

Post by flojo »

Is the presence of the "ANY!" directory in the root of the FS the sole detection of AnyDVD? Makemkvcon won't be buggy solely because of that, correct?

I bought a supposed retail copy of "Race for Your Life Charlie Brown" from Amazon and it has the "ANY!" directory on the disc. Apparently it's a bootleg but as long as it rips O.K., I'm fine with that. This message is printed at the start of the rip: "It appears that you have AnyDVD enabled. ..." ... but I don't have AnyDVD.

I would only be okay with that, as long as the disc still has full quality.

Can't say for sure, but I think, MakeMKV is looking in any directory on the disc for the MKB_RO.inf, MKV_RW.inf or Unit_Key_RO.inf and when it finds them in any directory but the AACS directory, it'll print out this warning.

I decrypted ISOs with BluRayTestAndDecrypt, which leaves a BTD! directory on the disc with the files and MakeMKV says, that it seems, I have on the fly decryption software active.

As long as there is no error on ripping, I would ignore this message.
