Getting a warning that this uses new version of aacs and report it via link. I did. I let it try to open for an hour and still spinning. I can't even get to the point of ripping it. This has never happened before. Stupid Lionsgate.
Any ideas?

Try gently cleaning the disc.
I occasionally get the message about a new version of AACS if I'm using MakeMKV with a brand new disc, but it has never prevented me from opening a disc. (My optical drives are LibreDrives.) I suppose if your optical drive isn't LibreDrive, you might have trouble. Probably though your drive is just having trouble reading the disc, so a gentle cleaning is warranted.

yeah it's libredrive. BDR-209D 1.51
disc has no visible issues of any kind and was cleaned after first issue.
