As you can see from here:

The 1080p Blu-ray from this movie has one extra feature called
"Happy Anniversary 007" documentary (48:31)
I tried right now to play the disc using LEAWO (app) and the bonus content was there.
Problem is, MAKEMKV cannot rip this extra feature alone. Instead, oddly divides into multiple files:
THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS_t65 (1).mkv
5m08s
THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS_t66 (1).mkv
12m08s
THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS_t67 (1).mkv
15m14s
THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS_t68 (1).mkv
13m03s
THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS_t69 (1).mkv
8m18s
THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS_t70 (1).mkv
3m50s
But if that was the case, ALL we had to do was to open the 1st file and append the rest, using MKVTOOLNIX, resulting in a single MKV. Right?
No. The single file (2.5 GB) has 57m41s.
What went wrong here? What happened is already in those 6 files I mentioned before: a fade out (black screen) that last several seconds in what appears to be each presentation from the extra feature.
For example, in the MKV you watch normally, then at 4 minutes and 8 seconds it ends, and then we have a full 1 minute (!) of black screen with no sound.
At 5m08s we see the extra feature again, image and sound. If I were to guess, this "fade out" is when the bonus content goes to a commercial. Fade in is when it resumes.
This problem repeats in other random moments, but they all appear to exist in the 48:31 playback in the LEAWO player. Meaning they were supposed to happen.
Problem is, if we watch in the player, the fade out lasts 1 second, it's OK there. Not a full 1 minute. Somehow MAKEMKV is getting crap that lasts 1 minute where it was supposed to last 1 second.
It's as if MAKEMKV was given a wrong command and told to rip incorrectly on purpose.
Meaning this = MAKEMKV spoiled this bonus content adding almost 10 minutes of fade out.
This is the first time I ripped a disc and a bonus content somehow gets messed up this particular way by MAKEMKV. It was supposed to be ripped with 48 minutes and not with these shenanigans. I have no idea why it was splitted, too.
If we go to to BD menu, there is not even a hint this is divided into multiple parts!
A few screenshots:
LEAWO:
At 4m18s we see this bit of the documentary ends (fade out).
1 second later... FADE IN. Resuming...

The 3rd image show the fade in (resuming) starts at 5m09s. Not at 4m18s where it was supposed to happen. 1 full minute of black screen was added by MAKEMKV. This happens again during those 57 minutes.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
*******
One last thing: the m2ts are identical to the MKVs created. So there is no single m2ts there. They are indeed splitted in the BDMV folder.
The Living Daylights not ripping correctly one extra feature
Re: The Living Daylights not ripping correctly one extra feature
I was able to fix this by removing all fade-outs, using MKVToolnix, so I trimmed the MKV to 48m42s. It's acceptable now and the fade-out lasts 2 seconds if most. I had to do 6 editions total. Puzzled why this happened - at least I found a solution.
