Anyone have any suggestions for a good 4k UHD Blu-ray player?
Anyone have any suggestions for a good 4k UHD Blu-ray player?
I'm looking for a 4k blu-ray player for my grandparents and need one that has no special frills and internet connections. I just want it to be exactly like a regular old DVD player: Pop in the disk, press play, and you're done. But I can't find one like that.. Any ideas?

As far as I am aware, all UHD players require internet access.isenki wrote: ↑Sat Apr 30, 2022 7:43 amI'm looking for a 4k blu-ray player for my grandparents and need one that has no special frills and internet connections. They have a connection but that does not mean you have to use it, except in the case if you want to do firmware upgrade but that can be done by downloading and using a USB stick.MartyMcNuts wrote: ↑Sat Apr 30, 2022 10:50 pmAs far as I am aware, all UHD players require internet access.
If you want to use the inbuilt streaming apps, then yes - but if not just use it as a stand alone player connected to either a TV or AVR.

Ok. Yep, after a bit more research an internet connection is only needed for firmware updates and if the disc has BD-Live features.exitguy wrote: ↑Sat Apr 30, 2022 11:37 pmThey have a connection but that does not mean you have to use it, except in the case if you want to do firmware upgrade but that can be done by downloading and using a USB stick.MartyMcNuts wrote: ↑Sat Apr 30, 2022 10:50 pmAs far as I am aware, all UHD players require internet access.
