Failed to open disc. Help!

Have used makemkv for a while and have never run into this issue. I recently updated to 1.9.7 and now most discs fail to open. All discs are screeners, so I'm thinking it could be a new protection issue..? Using on a Mac w/ up to date software. Hoping I can find help here!

I found the same issue, haven't had time to contact tech support yet. I think the screeners are different this year. MakeMKV used to work every time.

I contacted support and they told me my only option is to use manual mode. But that function is way over my head. Can't seem to figure out how to use it. Are you familiar?

So I've been trying to use manual mode on a Sicario screener but none of the syntax's I use work.

I've tried 1:1-2 1:3-4 1:5-6 1:7-8 1:9-10 1:11-12

And

1: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12

And

1: 1-12

All come back with "Invalid token"

Hoping someone can help me with my problem here.. Thank you!

This is a new structure protection. Should be fixed in the next version, 1.9.8

It seems as if all of this years screeners are employing this method. I always have ripped mine to place shift. Who has DVD players anymore ???

Would be great to get this fix out ASAP!

gotten this basically for all screeners this season (Steve Jobs, Sicario, Straight Outta Compton, Crimson Peak, etc)

MakeMKV v1.9.7 darwin(x86-release) started

yes it's a bummer. i just like to place shift my screeners so i can watch them on an iPad etc...

i hear ya. i have a big pile of discs and no disc player to play them on.

I have the exact same problem. Out of 12 screeners I received so far, I was able to play only three. Can't wait for the fix. I'll also write VES about it. And, of course, I won't consider the "protected" movies for any awards. Sorry, studios, but if you want us to be professional about this, maybe stop treating us as if we're all just trying to upload your stuff to torrent sites. (Could have saved 100 bucks, too, because I ended up buying an external player in the hopes that it would remedy the situation.)

New version is available for download and it has the fix for this issue.
