...I'm using the latest version. I'm trying to convert "Friends" season 1, but I don't think that is the problem. Standard DVD, not Bluray.
Anybody able to help?

What does it say the version number is?
Version
1.8.10 is the latest available, although it has some bugs that are being worked on for version 1.8.11.
The installed version will be displayed in the information window at the bottom of the MakeMKV screen when you start it. Does it look something like this on yours?
Code: Select all
MakeMKV v1.8.9 win(x64-release) started
Debug logging enabled, log will be saved as C:\Users\XXXXX/MakeMKV_log.txt
The new version 1.8.10 is available for download at http://www.makemkv.com/download
(note that I do not have 1.8.10 installed because of the bug)

I am running 1.8.10. I can't upload screenshoot because it says the quota has been reached.
So I uninstalled Makemkv and went to your page listing the older versions and attempted to install version 1.8.9, but I get the same error as before. The error says "This application version is too old. Please download the latest version at / or enter a registration key to continue using the current version." My understanding was I can rip as many DVDs under the version I had without requiring a purchase. Is that incorrect? I don't own any Blurays yet, so I found it to be a very useful tool. I've been updating my versions whenever the popup appears for over one year without a hitch until now.
The stink of it is, I can't proceed to use the old version because when I click "ok" it kills the program altogether. Maybe I misunderstand the nature of the DVD-only version when I read the license agreement before installing or something, but I thought I could continue ripping DVDs in unlimited fashion.
Thoughts?
Thanks.

Found the solution:

I've never had to do this in over a year of using makemkv, but I'm glad others have helped out! Great product, and great forum!
