I have Alan Parson's On Air DTS disc. I was trying to make a backup to do a track rip with another software, but I get errors. Wasn't certain what was going on other than maybe better or older encryption.

Error 'Scsi error - ILLEGAL REQUEST:ILLEGAL MODE FOR THIS TRACK' occurred while reading 'BD-RE PIONEER BD-RW BDR-XD05 3.10 SFDL143896UC' at offset '524288'

That's a DTS audio cd, isn't it? Not a movie or tv show.

I don't think MakeMKV can rip DTS audio CDs.

I think I have the same disc. It is a DTS CD.

The 5.1 audio is encoded within a “normal” CD format, I.e. 44.1K 16 bit stereo.

Play it on a normal CD player (with the volume turned down unless you want to destroy your speakers) and all you hear is white noise.

Connect the digital out of the same CD player to an AV receiver with a DTS decoder, and you get 5.1 surround.

If you rip the CD into a lossless format with whatever CD ripping software you prefer (EAC, dBPoweramp etc) then you can use the DTS decoder plugin on Foobar2000 to decode it into 5.1 audio. It’s a few years since I listened to it, but I think I did a stereo fold down of the 5.1 mix.

If all that sounds like too much hassle, just buy the normal CD or a download!
