Caprica Part 1, PAL (region 2, 4, 5), DVD 2 / 4

Steps to reproduce: insert second DVD, start MakeMKV , press "Open DVD disc" button.
MakeMKV analyze the disk. A bit after "Title #17 was added (12 cell(s), 0:12:07)" is displayed
in the bottom pane, MakeMKV stops making any progress and the top pane indicates:

Wait 5 minutes then press the "Cancel" button. In the next pane only the first title (including
all episodes but not the extra) is available. MakeMKV rips it sucessfully. Ripping episodes
separately is not possible which is the reason for this error report.

The log file attached to this post does not show any error before the moment in which the
cancel button has been pressed. Rising the "Minimum title length (seconds)" setting to 5400
which should eliminate all titles but the only titles that rips properly does not help with the blocking.

The DVD plays fine with VLC on the same machine. In particular, each episode can be watched
independently. The process of ripping unsuccessfully with makemkv and the process of playing
successfully with VLC has been repeated several times which makes the theory of a damaged or
dirty DVD unlikely. The same goes for the dirty lens theory.

The ISO produced by ripping the DVD using Gnome also hangs MakeMKV during the "CSS sectors scanned" phase even though
there is no more CSS.

This ISO file can then be used to generate 3 more ISO files (one per episode) with dvd95. The resulting 3 ISO files can be ripped
without a problem by MakeMKV.

Please submit IFO files for the disc that hangs and for any of yours re-mastered discs that work per instructions at http://www.makemkv.com/faq/item/8/catid/6 . Please send via email and put a link to this thread in email as well.

Might I suggest sending the new debug log along with the files again to Mike. I know he made some changes to the details in the debug log with the latest version. Perhaps it will speed up the fix.

House M.D. Season 7 (PAL, Region 2 & 4) DVD 3, 4, 5 & 6.
Same symptoms. As Caprica, it is a Universal Playback DVD.

The problem does not occur when starting from a VIDEO_TS directory instead of an ISO image or a DVD.

The problem is still present with 1.6.16.

Thank you for sharing the additional debug data. The problems are in both disc and MakeMKV - disc has a mastering error that causes MakeMKV to read excessive amounts of data. The next version will process this disc properly. You can even process this disc with current version - MakeMKV is not "blocked", it just reads a lot of unnecessary data. Leave it like this for an hour, and it will open the disc eventually.

The problem has been fixed in version 1.7.0.
