I have ripped nearly my entire video collection using a combination of an old DVD drive and a blu-ray drive (WH16NS40 flashed to WH16NS60). I have not run into any problems until trying to rip a DVD copy of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. I have tried cleaning the DVD, but both drives fail to open the disc, providing the log below. If anyone has run into a similar problem, any help would be appreciated.

MakeMKV v1.17.8 win(x64-release) started

There are different DVD Opening Modes you can try.

If you have the paid-for version of MakeMKV, you can try an older version of MakeMKV. Others on this forum have reported success with troublesome DVDs by trying an older version of MakeMKV. The DVD engine was rewritten recently and is generally better than the old one, but occasionally, the old one works better.

I believe in the practice of taste and try before you buy. I should expect the beta/trial version be ready for prime time. The previous versions should be available if makemkv wants purchasers :)

The previous versions ARE available. Link given above. But they work the same if they're registered vs. not-registered, except for expiration.

There are a lot of people who claim they're "just trying" it for months (or years).
