I'm in the process of converting my DVD and BluRay collection to digital. I've converted 30 or so with no problem. Very impressed with MakeMKV and bought a full license last week.

However, I have a problem with three of my James Bond films. This is The Man With The Golden Gun which seems to process correctly but fails every time with the following errors and no file is saved.

Is there anything that can be done ? I've cleaned the disk but this looks like a data problem. How do I set the debug logging that I hear so much about in this forum ?

Keep up the good work. BTW: I'm running on Win 7 Ultimate 64bit, Intel Core2 Quad 2.5GHz with 4GB memory.

Can't see any damage to the disc. I've even cleaned it with a cleaning machine. Still the same problems appear. Disc plays perfectly normally on a DVD player or even with Media Player on the machine I'm using MakeMKV on

I've rerun and sent a new debug log to the support email address; I didn't resend the IFOs.

It was created by ticking the box in preferences and then restarting MAKEMKV and converting the DVD; the error was the same as before and no MKV file was generated. To my eye the log looks the same as before.

BTW: I’ve cleaned the disc several times and the problem still happens.

I realize this is a very old thread, but I've just run into the exact same issue. I've been converting my collection, and when I tried to use makemkv with "The Man with the Golden Gun" it failed with the same results as @taylormuk. Has anyone resolved this exact issue or something similar?

Same problem here. DVD copy of Man With The Golden Gun... gets about 60% of the way through and hangs until I kill the process. Funny thing is I can rip the movie to an ISO using another program just fine, and even when I try to use MakeMKV to rip from that ISO, it crashes at the same point. Clean disk, no scratches. However, when played on a DVD player or in my laptop, it definitely has audio/video corruption at about 60% of the way thru the movie. All I can guess is that the disk I have was poorly made. Which sucks because Netflix doesn't have it available on DVD at this time, and probably never will...

fast forward to 2020... identical error. its the only bond disc that won't copy.

Coincidentally, I happened to be ripping my Bond MGM/UA box set yesterday. No problem with any of the discs, including The Man With The Golden Gun. You might try a different drive. I find that switching between my DVD burner and a BR burner sometimes works as they have different lasers/calibrations.

(Sorry - please don't ask to trade ISOs.)
