When I rip a movie, only the audio rips.

Hello, I'm trying to rip movie for legal use on YouTube. I have watched a video on how to use MakeMKV and I go through all of the proper steps (I think), but when I rip the movie, it makes a file with only audio. Why?

What does MakeMKV say about the source video, for audio type(s) included?

The problem is that I don't know what you're trying to do.

If you are using MakeMKV as it is intended to be used (ripping video from a DVD or Bluray), you should get an MKV file that contains both video and audio, as well as subtitle tracks and other related "stuff" that comes with.

When you play that back with an MKV-compatible viewing program, that video and audio (and other tracks) should be available to view.

If your viewing software does not have the video capability, it should show an error when you try playing the MKV file.

You're saying there is no error - so I'm at a loss to know what your problem is.
