Remove subtitles from MKV

Post by Billyngton »

I ran a DVD I have thru MakeMKV to store on my NAS. I thought I deselected subtitles but when I played the disc on my television there they were in all their annoying glory. Did I miss something?

You can use mkvmerge from mkvtoolnix to remove any track from the MKV file.

That is, assuming it wasn't "burned in" to the video itself on the DVD; that does happen, like the English versions of "The Longest Day".
