Missing Titles Sopranos DVDs

Post by ajuk67 »

Very new to this and just going through my films and TV series DVDs to convert to Plex. The films have gone ok. I thought the TV series were going OK too but I just noticed something on a couple of seasons of the Sopranos. I've just tried again on season 2 to make sure I know what's happening.

Disks 1, 2 and 3 seem to have worked fine.

Disk 4. It found 7 titles

Title 1: 7 cells. 56m04s
Title 2: 4 cells. 27m56s
Title 2/0/1: 4 cells. 29m38s
Title 3: 7 cells. 56m46s
Title 4: only 11 secs so skipped
Title 5: only 293 secs so skipped (Got it set for a minimum of 600s)
Title 6: 1 cell 14m09s

This disk is supposed to have 3 episodes - 11, 12 and 13 - and 2 "featurettes"

When I save the files, this translates to:

title_t00 (Whole episode)
title_t01 (First half of one episode)
title_t02 (Second half of title_t01)
title_t03 (Whole episode)
title_t04 (one of the featurettes)

So the first question is am I doing something wrong?

Second question is how I get Title 2 and Title 2/0/1 to save as one file.

I'm also struggling to work out the connection between what gets saved and uploaded to my Pi and what appears in Plex as episodes in the series. I create a folder:

TV Shows/The Sopranos/Season 'x'

I rename each file as something like "s2e1", etc

I upload them to the Pi. But in Plex, the last 2 episodes on disk 4 didn't appear.

Thanks for any help
AJ

Have you checked out Manual DVD Mode?

You may need to use it to access troublesome or missing titles.

Thanks for that. I've had a look but it's a bit above my head at my current level. I'm on about day three of using this :)

I'm starting again, disk by disk, to make sure I know what's happening at each stage. Before, I ripped 4 DVDs, chucked them in some folders and then went through them an renamed them all based on the order. Now, I'm doing a disk, checking it has the right number of episodes and renaming them Sopranos - S01E01, etc. That way, I'll get an idea on exactly when it goes wrong.

Special features usually will be smaller than the 10 minute minimum you have set.

How long are Supranos episodes normally? Half hour or full hour?

It looks like some episodes were "doubles", which would be the 56 minute versions, but are also available as individual episodes.
