I need to run AnyDVD HD so MakeMKV can open some DVDs

Post by drfox33 »

It is rare but happens to me when I get some DVDs - MakeMKV cannot open them.
When I try to open them - it accesses the drive and the drive starts blinking but nothing else happens.
It never gets to "Using LibreDrive mode (v06.2 id=AD8D206E4291)" message like with other DVDs.
Also, DVD drive becomes unresponsive - it keeps blinking until I turn it off (it is in USB enclosure).
But if I start AnyDVD HD and it processes the disk - then MakeMKV can open it and I can make an MKV just fine.
It happened recently with all disks of "Body of Proof" TV series that I got from Netflix and today with "Sleepless in Seattle" DVD.

Here is AnyDVD report on the disk:

Any thoughts on why the disks are not working out-of-the-box in MakeMKV?
