Endeavour Series 3

My copy of makemkv 1.15.2 (Win64) will not correctly open any disk of Endeavour Series 3.
It is unable to recognize the main titles on the disk, reporting that the CellWalk wouldn't work, switching to CellTrim.
The only title visible is the trailer for other BBC/PBS titles.
I see another, unanswered thread from 2016 about this here :
https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic ... our#p52299
Did anyone get a resolution? I bought this set from my local Thrift Shop and want to take a backup.
S.

I did, but it made no difference.
I turned on debug logging and tried to re-open the disc :
DEBUG: Code 10551311 at #%:W)rc;eMnI;>a<:213142496
DEBUG: Code 0 at #%:W)rc;eMnI;>a<:121274998
DEBUG: Code 0 at )_L!I!j.d$nyl|@]}T:29394229
CellWalk algorithm failed (structure protection is too tough?), trying CellTrim algorithm
Cells 1-1 were removed from title start
Title #49 has length of 92 seconds which is less than minimum title length of 120 seconds and was therefore skipped

Nobody?
This seems to have been a problem from at least 2016, surprised it hasn't been addressed.

I can confirm that this problem exists in v1.16.3 on OSX too.

I did find what appears to be a workaround for this problem.
Using VLC I identified the titles that corresponded to the the two episodes on disc 1. I followed the method outlined here for that:
https://www.tweaking4all.com/video/rip- ... itles-fix/
With that info in hand (Titles 51 and 4) I proceeded to open the DVD manually using the string "51 4" (no quotes). It popped up those two titles and I ripped them as normal. After cursory examination they appear to have ripped properly. I won't know for certain till I watch them. Since I'm watching Endeavor with my wife I can't just go binge them now, hopefully I'll get one done in the next day or two and I'll report back.
If they go well then I'll put the method to use on Disc 2 and hopefully have good results there too.

I just encountered the same problem on Endeavour 3. How did you:
'open the DVD manually using the string "51 4" (no quotes). It popped up those two titles and I ripped them as normal.'?
What program and what step(s) did you use to 'open the DVD manually using the string "51 4" (no quotes).'?
There are no answers in the other comments in this thread.
Thank you.

Manual DVD Mode is a thing in MakeMKV.
d00zah's post from Fri, Sep 25, 2020 has a link to the documentation.

Thank you. Checking that lead me to
viewtopic.php?p=78478#p78478
and the bottom of the graphic shows where to enter the likely title number(s).
I'm still a beginner, always willing to learn.

I have found that a few PBS Masterpiece DVDs have this issue. Endeavour was definitely the biggest offender--from season 3 onward, I needed to do the VLC > Manually open in MakeMKV dance. Miss Scarlet and the Duke, I think, was another. I think it's some strange attempt at copy protection.
Weirdly, both Lewis and Inspector Morse were totally fine, though the Morse DVD set isn't co-produced by PBS. (Lewis is, though.)

Is this still a case with 1.17.0 ?
