Tried to convert two dvd's and on both the volume of the speech is very low and being drowned out by the background audio of the scene. So just turning up the volume on player does not help
Works fine for the region 2 discs I have converted.

There are different standards involved for audio mixes between the US and EU markets, but that really doesn't account for a large difference in bias between speech and background. Some audio editors are just bone heads.
