Grinding noise on B-Side DVD

Trying to image tv series, The Pretender and the show has half the episodes on the B-Side. When trying to image the b-side it makes this horrible grinding noise. I have the slim drive with firmware by Alex Coluzzi (he is awesome BTW). Other than this everything has worked great. It also will not play b-side in VLC. I also tried it on my old DVDRW - also wont read B-Side from any of the seasons... Any thoughts?
