Dances With Wolves Special Edition

Anyone else have this problem and a solution?
Sitting here with my "Dances With Wolves Special Edition" dvds in hand (it is 2 discs) and, after copying with MakeMKV the second disc came up without subtitles for the Indian parts. (The first disc was fine.) Thought I had made a mistake so I started to copy it again only to see I had included the subtitles but they do not appear and clicking "Settings" during playback is ignored. Any help?
