Failed to save 10 of 16 titles
This year, the school system I use updated their DVDs. The new discs do not play on any software player I have, but they play on the commercial blu-ray player I have. I tried ripping with makemkv in order to view, but I get lots of errors. I think the discs only have some sort of bad sector protection scheme on them. Attached is the makemkv log file if that helps.

Without seeing WHAT the errors are, I can only guess... But, disks that have been handled by lots of people are problematic.
First suggestion - soft cotton or microfiber cloth, and a can of Pledge (or similar store brand) furniture polish. Spray the disk with the polish. Using a clean finger, rub in a circular motion until the wax starts to get thicker. Use the cloth to clean the excess off, rubbing from the center to the outside (across the track) gently.
Try ripping it right away. Often (and I've seen this work with rental disks as well as what the family returns to me), you can get at least one rip out of the disk before it reverts to needing a resurfacing.
Could it be something else? Need to see the error messages. FAQ in my signature has information on how to turn on and find debug logs, with more information in them. No need to attach files... Just post the log (or a representative portion of it) as part of a reply message.
