Errors with "Not Fade Away" DVD

Post by MakOwner » Wed May 08, 2013 2:42 pm

I have run into several disks with decruption issues recently -- perhaps some new scheme that the decryption libraries haven't caught up to yet?
Not Fade Away and Jack Reacher have both exhibited pretty much the same behavior, but this is log is for "Not Fade Away".

Please provide the IFO files as well, per /faq/item/8/catid/6

What do you see after opening disc in GUI? Do you see the title you've expected to see? Is the length and chapter count right?

I apologize for the delay - I will provide the files as soon as I can. Possibly by the end of the week.

What I saw in the GUI was pretty normal, so far as I'm aware - this is on Linux Mint 14 desktop, open the disc, and MKV grinds away for a while with the status bar and after that you get the generically named Title 01, Title 02 and so on - every disc I have ever ripped has been that way.

When you select the option to save off, copy or whatever it is, you get the prompt to save to folder with the Disc title -- and the Title 0x .mkv files are saved there.

I had problems using dvdbackup on the disc, so I used MakeMKV in debug mode and captured the output I linked to - that's the most informative stuff aside from the repeated SCSI read errors in the syslog from dvdbackup.

Like I said, it looks like there is some mew method of corruption being used to prevent copying - MakeMKV seems to be a lot smarter at working around it than dvdbackup.
