Downton Abby, Season 2

Post by MakOwner » Sun Dec 09, 2012 1:57 am

I have reported this before, and while I don't think this is from makemkv, I think it's from the underlying dvd libraries, I'm hoping someone knows of a work around.

This is the error I see when using dvdbackup on these disks:

Code: Select all

libdvdread: Elapsed time 0
*** Zero check failed in /build/buildd/libdvdread-4.2.0/src/ifo_read.c:574

DVD-Video information of the DVD with title DOWNTON_ABBEY_S2_D2

H!

LIBMKV_TRACE: Exception: Error while reading input

The above indicates an unreadable (damaged or dirty) disc.

Try carefully examining the disc for physical damage and then try (re)cleaning it.

If the problem persists, return the disc to the place of purchase in exchange for a new one...

I wish it were that simple, but I don't beleive that is the cause.
This happens on new, out of the box discs, and not just one.
Downton Abbey Season 2 has three discs, all three exhibit the same behavior.
I have posted on here before with some other movie titles where this happens.

The hardware functions just fine other media, both reading and writing, and although that could still be a possibility, with the volume of other media I author in this drive, I have my doubts.
