Failed To Open Because of Region Issue half way through a box set

Tring to rip a box set of The Guild which has 5 disks. The first 2 disks had no problems opening and ripping the contents. However once i moved on to disk 3 I get this error from MakeMKV

Error 'Scsi error - ILLEGAL REQUEST:MEDIA REGION CODE IS MISMATCHED TO LOGICAL UNIT REGION' occurred while reading '/VIDEO_TS/VTS_02_1.VOB' at offset '2048'
Failed to open disc

The disks also won't open in VLC. ( The first 2 will load with VLC )

1. I know these disks are region one. 2. I had no problems with the first 2 disks from the same box set.

I'm really confused at this point and any advice would be welcome.

Download the program of your choice something like the freeware Nero Infotool. It gives you the info on a dvd like layers, copy protection, Region Coding, etc...see what it says. You may be dealing with knockoffs.

Have you tried power cycling your optical drive?
