is a lower resolution after ripping norma?

Post by bombadil » Tue Oct 01, 2024 4:09 pm

Hello,

on the package of my house of cards DVDs, it says, that the resolution is supposed to be 1080p. The ripped file on my computer doesn't look like full HD to me. How can I look up the resolution in VLC or Windows? Is that normal? Did I mix up some settings?

happy if someone could help

If they're actually DVDs, they aren't going to be 1080p. That's Bluray territory.

Although, it is possible they're STRETCHED to 1920 width, but highly unlikely. And some BDs are actually DVD video remastered to "FULL HD!!!", but not really. Some early Star Trek stuff was like that.
