Still experiencing hiccups during playback and failures
Still experiencing hiccups during playback and failures
I upgraded to MakeMKV 1.6.7 for Linux.
I had noticed some hiccups in video/audio playback of Tangled using 1.6.5, so I tried to re-copy using 1.6.7, but there are still hiccups. So, no luck there. Attached is the log.
Additionally, two other DVD that failed to copy under 1.6.5 (Final Destination 3 and P.S. I Love You) still fail to copy under 1.6.7.
Still hoping these issues will eventually get sorted out.

Re: Still experiencing hiccups during playback and failures
Error messages in your log do indicate an error but they only would lead to slower copy speeds, not a corrupted file. You should have gotten a valid MKV file in the end. Did you submit logs for discs that fail earlier?
Re: Still experiencing hiccups during playback and failures
Strange, but I am definitely seeing a hiccup at the same place during repeated playback attempts.mike admin wrote:Error messages in your log do indicate an error but they only would lead to slower copy speeds, not a corrupted file. You should have gotten a valid MKV file in the end.
No, I didn't, but I will do so. Actually, P.S. I Love You just hangs and never exits, so I might not be able to get the log for that one...I'll see if it outputs anything in its file.mike admin wrote:Did you submit logs for discs that fail earlier?
Re: Still experiencing hiccups during playback and failures
I am getting errors on Tangled blu-ray too. ELEVEN HOURS into just the PRE-RIP analysis and it's only HALF WAY DONE with that! It is absurd to take 24hrs just to analyze a disc for eventual ripping, no? Something is seriously hosed. I have no idea what a DASPI kernel is, or if that would actually help here. Anyone?
<rip log deleted because the gorram system says 60k characters is too many> WTF?! I'm trying to help here.... if you want to see the log, give me a window into which I can paste it!
PS: so I clicked the X (stop this crazy thing!) button, and was presented with the Rip-Me list. HUH?? Well, I guess we'll see what happens next.
Waste of time is what happens:

EDIT: Yet ANOTHER case of IT Crowd "turn it off and on again". Geez! What is the deal here? I powercycle the blu-ray drive, restart MakeMKV and suddenly the rip proceeds with alacrity. sigh. IMHO, MakeMKV should at the very least offer this as a solution any time it's initial scan takes more than a minute or two.
Aside: The skipping of all tracks less than two minutes could be a huge problem on certain discs. On an animation compilation this would skip almost ALL of the awesome hand-made shorts! Any solutions to this? (Yes, I have seen the Prefs/Video/Min title length option, but it refuses to let me set it to less than 120 seconds!)

@captain
1) You post does not seem to be related to this thread

Naah - you should (as I have) be able to set it to as low as 2 seconds...(Yes, I have seen the Prefs/Video/Min title length option, but it refuses to let me set it to less than 120 seconds!)

Re: Still experiencing hiccups during playback and failures
It seems that you have a physically damaged disc.captain wrote: Error 'Posix error - Input/output error' occurred while reading '/BDMV/STREAM/00123.m2ts' at offset '13762560'
Re: Still experiencing hiccups during playback and failures
I've attached the logs for the two other discs that failed. I had to compress the one log since it was huge and would have been bigger had I not killed it. Thanks.mike admin wrote:Did you submit logs for discs that fail earlier?

Re: Still experiencing hiccups during playback and failures
For both disc please copy all IFO and BUP files, also runheavy wrote:I've attached the logs for the two other discs that failed. I had to compress the one log since it was huge and would have been bigger had I not killed it. Thanks.mike admin wrote:Did you submit logs for discs that fail earlier?
Code: Select all
makemkvcon --debug -r info disc:0
Re: Still experiencing hiccups during playback and failures
I sent the requested info for both discs. Thanks.mike admin wrote: For both disc please copy all IFO and BUP files, also runand save the output. Compress IFO files with corresponding makemkvcon output and send to support@makemkv.com . At a first glance it looks like both failures are caused by errors in MakeMKV.Code: Select all
makemkvcon --debug -r info disc:0
Re: Still experiencing hiccups during playback and failures
FYI. I'm not sure if 1.6.10 was supposed to address the issues in the movies for which I submitted information (i.e., P.S. ILove You and Final Destination 3), but I tried to copy them again and they still fail.
Re: Still experiencing hiccups during playback and failures
Just another update after upgrading to 1.6.12...both discs still fail to copy.
