Hi all,
I'm hoping you can help with this. I just installed the MakeMKV 1.6.5 beta and used it to rip my copy of Dawn of the Dead 1978 (Extended Edition disc). MakeMKV found no subtitles, and subsequently ripped no subtitles. VLC media player doesn't find any subtitles built into the resultant MKV file.
However, if I play the DVD itself with VLC, it finds 4 'Closed Caption' subtitles tracks.
Any idea what I can do to actually get these subtitles ripped and stored into the MKV?
I'm working with the original Region 1 DVD. It's not a burned copy of the movie or anything.

true CC format, uses "Line 21" that MakeMKV presently doesn't "see".
(Closed-captioning system used in North America and other NTSC countries. So named because the caption codes are transmitted on the 21st line of the TV picture. Line 21 caption-decoding chips are built into nearly all U.S. and Canadian TV sets [and some other devices].)
"mike admin" has stated that presently, MakeMKV cannot process true "Closed Captioning"...
