DVD RIP plays horrid Green Flickering Screen with Sound

Post by JIMMYCUSKELLY » Tue Feb 04, 2020 6:39 pm

Hi there,
I've ripped lots of DVDs on MakeMKV before, this is the first time I've come across this probem.
Yesterday I ripped Disc 1 of 'Birds of a Feather Series 1' (from 'the collection' boxset ASIN: B074BN8LXZ)

When I played the MKV in VLC I got a horrid green flickeing distorted screen but with the soundtrack playing fine.
Google revealed that Disabling 'Hardware-Accelorated Decoding' (in Inputs / Codecs) solves the issue in VLC- which I found it did!

However this horrible green flickering business also occurs when I play the MKVs's on my home-media server PLEX.. If I go into playback settings and change it to 'direct play' / 'play original' it sorts the problem. Ideally though I'd like to be able to play these like all my other MKV's - straight away without having to mess with settings like this..

Is anyone please able to tell me what's happening here, and if I can change this?

I noticed the disc took longer than normal to load in makemkv, I've attached some blurp - not sure if it's helpful..

Thanks all
